We would like to welcome and introduce Cassie Scoble who has recently joined the Sustainable Agriculture team at cesar!
Cassie brings with her seven years experience working in plant pathology and integrated pest management (IPM) within the agricultural and horticultural industries. Prior to joining cesar, Cassie was part of a vegetable diseases project with the Victorian Department of Primary Industries. Here Cassie conducted research in laboratory, glasshouse and field trials relating to the development IPM-compatible strategies for control of various soilborne diseases affecting vegetable crops.
Cassie has received several postgraduate study scholarships and recently achieved First Class Honours at LaTrobe University for her project that investigated plant derived volatiles as potential novel control options for soilborne pathogens of vegetable crops.
At cesar Cassie will be responsible for the surveillance of resistance development in pest species in broad-acre crops, and will conduct research critical for cesar’s clients in product testing and development.
