PestFacts resumes for 2013 with new map feature

13 May 2013

The PestFacts south-eastern service is underway for another winter growing season. This free service is an opportunity for farmers and farm advisers to keep up-to-date about emerging invertebrate pest issues. It is supported by the Grains Research and Development Corporation.

PestFacts south-eastern is distributed as an electronic newsletter with the aim of helping farmers achieve maximum yield and quality for the lowest cost by:

  • providing timely information about pest outbreaks
  • outlining effective controls
  • providing current information about relevant and new research findings
  • issuing warnings and reminders for a range of invertebrates of pastures, pulses, oilseeds, cereals and fodder crops.

PestFacts south-eastern subscribers also benefit from special access to cesar's extensive insect image gallery which can be used by growers, agronomists, farm advisers and researchers to enable more accurate identification of pest and beneficial insects (and other invertebrates).

This year, a new feature has been introduced, PestFacts map. This interactive map enables subscribers to search and view previous historical pest reports across Victoria and NSW.
