Survey on green peach aphid resistance

cesar is conducting a short survey of horticultural growers and consultants throughout Australia to better understand the issues surrounding green peach aphid (GPA) resistance. GPA is a widespread pest, attacking a broad range of crops. This species has a tendency to develop insecticide resistance, and this is becoming commonplace across numerous industries. Within Australia, there are documented cases of resistance to several insecticide classes, including synthetic pyrethroids, organophosphates and carbamates. Achieving adequate control of resistant GPA populations is challenging for growers in many regions.

The aim of this survey is to better understand the insecticide spray practices of growers across crop types and different geographic regions. The results will help identify resistance drivers and subsequently devise resistance management strategies for GPA.

The survey, which is part of a project funded by Horticultural Australia Limited using the vegetable industry levy and matched funds from the Australian Government (project number: VG12109), should take about 10 minutes of your time. There is a $150 RM Williams gift card competition for participation.
