Myzus persicae
The green peach aphid is a pest of many crops but primarily attacks canola, lupins and other pulse crops. They are usually sparsely distributed within a crop, mainly on the undersides of leaves. Adults have an oval shape body, are approximately 3 mm long and may be pale yellow-green, organge or pink in colour. Winged adults have a dark patch on the abdomen. Green peach aphids are most common in autumn and seldom cause economic losses to crops through direct feeding. However, they are an important vector of several plant diseases. Some populations have developed resistance to insecticides.
