Listroderes difficilis
Adult vegetable weevils are approximately 8 mm long, greyish-brown in colour, and have a noticeable pale V-shaped marking near the middle of the back. They have a prominent snout and are unable to fly. Larvae have a slightly curved yellow-green or cream coloured body with an orange-brown head. They are legless and grow to 12 mm long. Vegetable weevils attack canola crops and a range of weeds including capeweed. Both the adults and larvae can cause significant damage to canola seedlings. Larvae hatch from eggs laid in the soil surface in autumn, and adults emerge from pupae in spring.
