Naupactus leucoloma
Adults are large weevils, growing to 15 mm long with a short snout and a grey-brown coloured body. They are flightless, and have a distinctive lighter coloured stripe running along either side of the body. Whitefringed weevil larvae are soil dwelling, legless grubs, and grow to 9-13 mm long with a greyish-white, slightly curved body. Larvae live in the soil and feed on plant tap-roots, generally from late autumn to early summer. Adults emerge from the soil in summer and feed on plant foliage, however it is the larvae that typically cause more damage. Their host range includes lucerne, pastures and some pulse crops.
